Variable Pitch Technology

Our innovative VPT™ (Variable Pitch Technology) puts the air movement control in your hand. You can adjust the blade pitch (or let the fan do it for you) from +/- 0° to 20°, while the fan is operating, to blow air in a columnar flow or conically disperse it for a wider reach - up or down, equally effectively - accommodating your changing needs on the floor. We call it Adjustable Air Movement.

When two or more Smart VPT Fans are installed in your facility, you can get a wave like movement of air by alternating the direction of airflow - up or down - between the fans, greatly improving ventilation and indoor air quality (IAQ). We call it Complete Facility Movement of air.

AirMotion Smart VPT™ Fans do not rotate in reverse for heat-destratification. Instead they use Variable Pitch Technology to blow the air up, pushing the trapped heat down to the floor much more effectively and to avoid any disturbing chilling breeze. Please see diagrams below.

Rotatair™ Composite blades

Unlike other blades with aerofoil shapes^ taken from sailplanes or vehicle air deflectors designed to go in one direction, we have engineered our blades to be symmetrical for equal effectiveness in moving air up or down and to rotate efficiently in the wind of other blades. And the composite materials make them lighter and stronger. In most cases AirMotion Big Smart Fans™ are 3 times or more effective at moving air upwards than other HVLS fans - something we believe is essential for optimal heat-destratification and air mixing.

Wider near the hub of the fan and narrower at the tips, rotatair blades reduce turbulence, and allow fluid and consistent air movement across the fan. They are also quieter in operation, and last longer as they are less affected by humidity or corrosive fumes etc.

^ The aerofoil shape is designed for airplane wings to push them forward. As the US Navy told us ‘You cannot fly a plane backward...’
